Predictive Maintenance Incorporating Data From Internet Of Things (IoT)
The PFIM CMMS predictive maintenance enables users to leverage their maintenance management by taking advantage of data collected by various devices. These devices include tablets, mobile devices, data loggers, mobile applications and are also known as Internet of Things. This data is analysed by PFIM CMMS to generate maintenance related alerts and alarms based on specified thresholds.
The Internet of things (IoT) is the inter-networking of physical devices, vehicles (also referred to as “connected devices” and “smart devices”), buildings, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to collect and exchange data. Maintenance Triggered By Monitoring
By leveraging the data collected from these devices, algorithms can be developed to trigger preventative maintenance tasks. This can prevent costly downtime caused by breakdowns as well as averting damage to equipment resulting in further cost benefits.
This automated just in time style preventative maintenance can create savings by raising maintenance tasks only when necessary thereby doing away with certain unnecessary manual checks and measures. This contributes to lowering the total cost of ownership and enhancing productivity and therefore profitability!
IoT devices can report on vibration, pressure, temperature, rpm, speed, location, lighting, rate of flow, rate of production (counters) and any other metrics for which a value can be recorded or retrieved.
The Caterpillar C32 is a good example of a current plant that has an electronic management system that can be interfaced with using a controller (Internet of things) and the data logged into PFIM CMMS for predictive analysis and maintenance scheduling
Existing plant and equipment often have management systems from which data can be extracted and logged via controllers into PFIM CMMS for predictive analysis and scheduling of maintenance management tasks
The devices or things can be local or remote making use of various connectivity solutions in order to deliver their measures to the PFIM Maintenance Management System.
The data can be used to generate a Job Card (work ticket) to dispatch a technician as soon a specified threshold is violated. The PFIM CMMS can notify the technician via SMS or EMail according to preset rules in the system.
Older plant and equipment or plant and equipment without existing electronic monitoring interfaces can be equipped with a custom controller (Internet of things) to read and log data into the PFIM CMMS
Plant and equipment without existing electronic monitoring interfaces can be equipped with a custom designed controller and sensors to read and log data into the PFIM CMMS
We are skilled at integrating with different systems and can assist customers with retrieving the necessary data to enhance their maintenance management systems even in cases where the plant and equipment do not currently have electronic monitoring interfaces.
